Jerusalem Elections:

‏The rabbis of the Degel Hatorah party in Jerusalem, Rabbi David Cohen, Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron and Rabbi Baruch Soloveitchik, met yesterday afternoon with the Admor of Gur in his home in Jerusalem. ‏The organizer of the visit was Yitzhak Goldknopf, secretary of the Committee for kdushas hashabbos. During most of the visit, the Gerer Rebbe spoke with them in learning for about half an hour. ‏Toward the end of the visit, the subject of the mayoralty in Jerusalem came up, when then the rabbis understood from the Rebbe that his only address for all political matters was and remains in the figure of Deputy Minister Yaakov Litzman. ‏It was also learned that three weeks ago the rabbis of the Degel party asked to meet with the Admor of Gur to discuss the issue of Jerusalem and the local elections, but the request was met with refusal. ‏During most of the meeting, the three spoke in learning and in the meantime they also dealt with the Shabbos issues in the city.
